Marion County is divided into 9 approximately equal segments. Decatur Township is in the southwest corner of the county. It has easy access to downtown Indianapolis, large shopping centers, the interstate highway system and the Indianapolis International Airport, yet it remains one of the few areas in Marion County still considered rural.
