There are numerous parks, tennis courts, swimming pools, golf courses and community centers in Center Township. Many museums and historical sites are also located in Center Township, including the Indiana State Museum, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana World War Memorial, the Madam Walker Theatre, the Benjamin Harrison Home and the James Whitcomb Riley Home. There are many major shopping areas located in Center Township, most notably the Circle Center mall located in downtown Indianapolis. Such special events as the Mini Marathon, The Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade, Circle Fest, RCA Tennis Championships, and Zoobilation take place in Center Township in the downtown Indianapolis area.
