Sales are Way Up So Far in 2013!

According to the Metropolitan Board of Realtors (MIBOR), sales have picked up considerably this year over last year.  Given the fact that last year was a very mild winter, the numbers tell an even more positive message since the weather has generally been significantly colder than last year.  


Local Housing Report: 2013 Starts Strong

The January 2013 housing data released by MIBOR today shows a continuing climb in closed and pending sales in central Indiana. According to the MIBOR Monthly Indicators Report, the number of closed sales in central Indiana increased 22.2 percent in January 2013 compared to January of a year ago. Closed sales rose 23.3 percent in the quarter ending in January 2013 when compared to the same three-month period last year.

Pending sales kept pace by increasing by 23.4 percent for January and 20.1 percent in the quarter ending in January.  

Sales prices are on a similar pace as seen in the last year with median sales price up 3.3 percent for the month and 4.3 percent for the quarter.  Average sales price increased 5.5 percent in January and 5.4 percent in the quarter ending in January. Months of inventory stands at 5.5 months.
