The Elephant in the Room
It’s that time of year again that we visit many clients who are considering selling their home. We have many conversations that center specifically around the exact pricing of the home. As is true with human nature, many clients have a more inflated idea of the price of their home than we do. This is a very delicate subject and we try to back up our professional opinion with specific, verifiable and recent information. While we understand that every client wishes to maximize the value of their home, it must be justified in the eyes of a prospective buyer and ultimately an appraiser who will “vet” the value of the home for the mortgage company. Over- pricing a home can have serious consequences in a challenging real estate market such as today…don’t let the price of your home become the elephant in the room.
